Italian food, abroad.
I am Italian. I live abroad though – spread around Europe. Culturally I feel European, linguistically I am quite confused, and use whatever means I have to deliver the message. Quick and dirty: I do greatly appreciate language subtleties, but I don’t want to focus on them personally. This is why I write in English.
What really characterizes me as an Italian is food. There is no food like Italian food and my cooking is Italian even when I am crushing lemongrass, no matter how hard I try.
This is a place where I want to try and gather some memories. I tend to forget so easily, even the things I love.
Everybody – me included – complains that I cook the (ehrm) most fabulous dishes, and then these recipes disappear, never again to be seen. I’d like to keep some track of what I do and also I find it very handy to have a place where I can collect all my recipes (at least the ones I like the most and would like to reproduce, sooner or later). I’d also like to keep a clearer track of friends and occasions: food is what I have to offer, and I love to share it with people.
This is why I am also trying to share it with you.
You are very welcome to leave a comment, positive or negative: you are going to make my day, either way.
